Thoughts from a young theologian

My head hurts… :p

A few days ago, I asked God in prayer to help me grow in humility. He responded by giving me 3 philosophy classes, including the history of philosophy. Wow!! I think I seriously underestimated the studies a priest has to undertake in the seminary. I actually feel that I’m studying 2x harder in here than I’ve ever done in university!! It’s still a little too early to tell but today, I felt really overwhelmed and powerless before this new beast of a subject… 😦 I’ll need a lot of prayers to get through this part… The courses have been really tough but there are always times for a bit of humor during class too… I have this bad habit of biting nails and once the professor caught me doing it, he remarked that Aristotle classified nail biting as a morbid state… Nail biters are at an even lower class that the vicious man, who’s at the lowest rank in Aristotle’s scale of the kinds of men… Ouch!!

Anyway, I’m happy to say though that despite moving my official sleep time later into the night, I’ve still been able to get up early enough for lauds. I’m also slowly starting to learn the way things work out here. I’ll post up my schedule soon so you’ll see what it’s like… But right now, it’s still constantly changing. Anyway, have a good night and God bless!!!

Cesar! 🙂 You’re not alone in your suffering. If it’s at all possible, let me know what you’re studying!
    Go Cesar go!
